16+ Young Peoples services

Our semi-independent services are designed to provide emotional and practical support to young vulnerable people and teach the required skills to enable them to move into independent housing within the community. We are able to offer supported accommodation that promotes independent living with the safety net of support where needed. We are able to assist young people with the following:

We actively work towards the five outcomes of the Every Child Matters government initiative, which are as follows:

Staying Healthy:

Ensuring the physical wellbeing of every individual. This includes ensuring that the young people undergo check-ups and medical procedures, including registering with GPs, opticians and dentists, helping to make appointments and keep appointments including counselling, hospitals etc.

Staying Safe:

Ensuring that young people are not subjected to mistreatment, sexual or physical abuse, mental abuse, ensuring thy are given health & safety advice to prevent injury and accidents, offering sexual health and family planning advice, ensuring safety from crime and antisocial behaviour, and providing security within the facility.

Enjoying and Achieving:

We help our young people to prepare for education, and assist them with enrolling on education courses. We also assist them in accessing funding where required, and encourage them to enjoy learning as well as to make friends and enjoy socialising.

Making a Positive Contribution:

We actively encourage our young people to register for education and training courses, and to seek work and apprenticeships. We also encourage them to get involved with social and community affairs, and to behave in a socially acceptable and law-abiding manner. We also offer emotional support and encourage confidence and social skills.

Achieving Economic Well-being:

Helping with budgeting, seeking employment after school or training is complete, encouraging to engage in activities such as sports, dance etc., preparing for independent living, assisting with access to transport and to find suitable and comfortable housing.

We also offer additional therapies and practical support to assist young people to better themselves and the community.

Our vision for young people at GreatFuture Support Ltd is to help them back into the community by providing a safe and comfortable environment in which to live and socialise. We offer quality of life and suitable support, as well as aiding the transition into normal housing when the time is right. This is achieved by giving support on both emotional and practical levels.

We treat each and every young person who comes to us for help with the respect and care that they deserve, and understand that every person is an individual with specific needs. We aim to give young people the confidence and life skills to help them to build a bright future for themselves, while always offering support to fall back on should they ever need extra help.

We know that by working close together, we can make a big difference to many young people’s lives – after all young people are our future.
